Viti Levu dive sites are the easiest to access, are excellent in variety, whilst most sites being suitable for all skill levels.
Perhaps the highlight, if highlight to you means heart stop adrenaline, is the feeding of the massive bull sharks. At Shark Reef near Bega Lagoon is where up to 8 types of sharks could turn up to 'grab' a feed. The two Fijian feeders claim to be protected by traditional magic. And I'm inclined to believe them since there hasn't been an incident in the 7 plus years of feeding these massive predators.
The Mamanucas being close to west Viti Levu means dive sites are popular and easily accessible. Good diving infrastructure means diving can be easily organised from any resort.
The Yasawas offers excellent dives whilst being less crowded. It's home to some of the most spectacular corals in the world. Other highlights are pristine reefs, underwater cliffs, and snorkelling with giant manta rays.
The Lomaiviti Group
covers 'central' Fiji and has
some of the most amazing diving in all of
Fiji. Highlights include drift diving down narrow channels, thriving
walls of corals, and copious fish life
including various schools of
fish, rays, hammerheads, and grey sharks. A lot of sites can only be
accessed
by live-aboards so there's various areas that remain largely untouched.
Vanua Levu has many untouched sites away from tourist sites for the adventurous. With great walls of corals, diverse fish and pelagics, tiny critters, and reef sharks it's an underwater delight. There's dives for all levels, however the narrow channel drift dive at Nasonisoni is great for the experienced.
Taveuni is known as the 'garden island' and that title can carry to beneath it's waters. A plethora of soft corals and diverse fish including manta rays and sharks. It's home to the famous Somosomo Strait and has a couple of 'Top 10 Dive Locations in the World' according to U.S. Divers magazine.

The jewel of Kadavu diving is the Great Astrolabe Reef. Great for exquisite hard corals as well as stunning soft corals. With a variety of dive sites and untouched reefs, it has the elements of a perfect Fiji diving holiday.
